Wedding in Ipoh

No, it’s not my wedding. Not yet… LoL.

A while back, I went to Ipoh for a friend’s wedding. A high school friend. Really glad she tied the knot. She said she didn’t want to and it’s all purely pressured by parents. LoL…

So, I was doing all these plannings to explore alone cos I will be driving there alone a day earlier. At the end, none of the plans worked out. Lesson to be learnt, don’t plan.

I left KL kinda late due to some unforeseen circumstances. Along the “adventure” driving alone to Ipoh, I saw a kinda bad accident. At first I thought it was a motorcycle that is on fire but NOOO! The whole car was on FIRE! Then, I stopped at the RnR and had Baskin Robbins and bought some fruits to munch on. :P

I arrived Ipoh at about 6 or 7pm with heavy rain. I didn’t have an umbrella with me in the car, so I kinda waited for the rain to slow down.

The only thing that I am glad that I did research and plan on is the hotel. I booked Golden Roof Hotel and I am amazed. Well, if u expect 5 star experience, please look elsewhere. This hotel apparently is new, the lobby is spacious, it’s absolutely affordable and most importantly, it doesn’t look dodgy.

Once I walked into my room, the space is quite ok. Mounted LCD TV, queen sized bed, no cupboard tho, but they have hooks for you to hang your clothes. The toilet has rain shower! It’s definitely clean and no disgusting smell. AWESOME!

Looking out the window is a school, so do expect some noise in the morning. If you are a DEEP sleeper then you got nothing to worry about.

all freshen up!

After I got myself checked-in, I freshen myself a bit and off I drove out and went to my friend’s house. One of the girls and her husband were there alre. So we sat, ate and chatted a while. I even did mehndi on both hands! Amazed how she can draw freehand!

When I was about to leave, the bride accompanied me to my car along with her cousin and her cousin’s husband. We talked a bit and then I realised the cousin’s husband is actually working the same company as me… small small world!

Went back to the hotel, showered and laze on the bed… and I can’t sleep at all. At the end I had migraine and I didn’t make it for the wedding at the temple.

After I had enough rest, that’s when the rest arrive and about to go for lunch. We went out for lunch, hung out a bit then went back to the hotel to get ourselves prepared for the wedding dinner.

The wedding dinner was really grand. We actually joined in the entrance with the bride and groom behind them. Then we sat down, then the usuals… makan minum.

After the dinner, we went to an Irish pub nearby and drank some more. At first, the top floor was packed… and suddenly everyone left! The whole top floor belonged to US! Well, of cos, everyone went crazy on karaoke, darts and pool. LoL.

The next day, we went for the famous dim sum at Ming Court Hong Kong Dim Sum. Then, we walked over to have the famous Funny Mountain Tau Fu Fah. Then we took our car and drove over to collect our salty chicken… and we all went on our separate ways.

Glad to see everyone happy during the trip. Although something happened at the drinking session, but it’s all good. LoL… Saw on FB, another one of them got hitched. From the pictures, it really looked really nice wedding. I hope everyone will remain happy and healthy with their other halves.

Wedding #3

i dont know should i thank god everything is done and over with. its not even my wedding and i macam tumpang stress. a part from that, i've been arguing with her almost everyday about this. no time to talk properly together or even eat properly together. dont know will be ok or not after this...

woke up at approx 4.30am and shower, blow dry my hair and get ready to head to the bride's home. while waiting for my turn for make up by the make up artist of the day, helped to get ready for the heng dai stuffs, hang ard in the bride's room.

luckily the groom came late than the appointed time, we got more time to get ready. got 1 make up artist only leh, and a lot of pretty ladies waiting for their turn neh...

timing was just nice, when everybody is done getting ready, the groom and heng dais arrived. played the games, (im waiting to see if there is any video), picked the bride and proceed with tea ceremony.

then, off we go to the groom's place... where? *TADA!* sabak bernam...

the journey... the highways are fun. bcos we were rushing time like mad, the bride and grooms car was speeding like mad (BMW), while the escorts cant catch up... most of us failed to follow the main car, and... we got lost. =.="" fun eh?

at the end the groom created a whatsapp group with rough directions. so even we lost track of them, we still manage to get to sabak bernam. luckily enough, when we reached sabak bernam, we saw their car, and continue following from there...

because of the long bumpy journey, all of our bladder almost burst... we Q up for the toilet. lol...

then proceed with the tea ceremony and all of us rested a while. the bride and the groom rested in their room. the groom's parents purposely extended another room for them! ^^ while others rested at the dining area with some food prepared. some of us... hehe... rested in the car with the air cond blasted. :P

we walked over to the banquet area for the lunch. it was 4 pm, i dont know should i call it lunch or dinner... er... hi-tea perhaps?

after yum seng and the banquet ended, we then headed back to KL... another few hours journey.

by the time we reached KL, we were all almost passed out... @.@

overall, the scenery is nice. but it was damn tiring. luckily the next day i was working nite shift. :D

Busy Busy Week...

It’s been really busy for the past 1 week. Especially for LGZ. For me I’m fine cos I’m working night shift. But for her, after work she need to rush to the new house to do packing/cleaning/etc etc.

When it’s my off days, I went over and help with some cleaning and monitor on the furniture being moved in.

All set now. It’s only me now that needed to pack my stuffs and move in. ^^

On the side note...

I wanna congrats JASMINE!

table deco

I was at her wedding dinner last week in T@ste6. A restaurant in Swiss Garden Residences. Its not the typical ‘YUM SENG’ Chinese wedding dinner that we usually go to.

placard and thank you gift

It is being set up in long tables. The table that I am seated was with Jessi, Nikie, Abbie, Lisa and Lisa’s hubby, Lawrence.

The journey getting to the dinner place was a night mare. It was jammed everywhere! And it was raining~ Heavily!!! Actually, luckily it wasn’t me driving cos if it’s me, I think I will scream at the top of my lungs alre. =.=””

Once I arrived is when they served the first course. The seafood soup.

Then we were being entertained by a slide show of Paul’s childhood pictures.

grilled chicken +blue cod fish + mashed sweet potato + deep fried yam

Then they served the second course,  grilled chicken +blue cod fish + mashed sweet potato + deep fried yam. I love the mashed sweet potato! Gonna mashed it myself and enjoy it on a couch next time. Yums~

Jasmine put up a short video of their journey in pictures with their wedding pictures.

And then most guests left after then dessert.

me and abbie

While the guests leaving one by one, I was at the hotel lobby enjoying my TVB drama on my phone waiting for LGZ to pick me up. She was busy with the cleaning. (Ya. Fetch me d den have to go through the jam back to the new house and clean some more…) She then picked me up, back to the new house and continue cleaning...

Congrats again Jasmine. Stay sweet and pretty always. Next time I see you, we continue bully Jessi, k? Haha…

Lastly...

Camwhore a bit. :P

Next wedding... Karen's.

Congrats Adeline and Ronnie!

i realised i have lots of things to blog but this is wayyyyyy back dated so i better blog about this 1st. :P

was invited to my ex-colleague, adeline's wedding and also to be part of her jimuis...

the night before the wedding, a few of us went over to adeline's house for dinner and also to help out on the actual day stuffs. chopping the vege, preparing chili, lemon, tying bananas, arranging seats for the wedding banquet. by the time we are done, it was already about 3am. 6 of us cramped into adeline's room and by 5am, all of us were already up and taking turns to take shower.

we then took our breakfast and at the same time, arrange the stuffs for the hengdais to go through the challenges. ngeks...

challenge #1

they are required to finish the food prepared. there's sugar, lemon, celery and chili. combination of sweet, sour, bitter and spicy. the stages in life. but i guess it was quite easy for the hengdais to complete it cos they were not complaining at all!

the plan was, once they have completed eating, they have to give the angpau... and when the jimuis are satisfied, we jimuis will get in the house and lock the grill. then, someone outside to open the gate for the groom and hengdais to proceed to the 2nd challenge.

but...

before the jimuis manage to get in the house and get the grill locked, the gate is unlocked!!! whatelse the hengdais do? barge and open the grill la!

we were trying to close the grill while the hengdais trying to open... T.T

fortunately, the jimuis are strong enough and the hengdais gave up at the end. :P
and so, they need to proceed to...

challenge #2

the bottle are filled 1/4 of water and they need to tie the banana like in the picture to swing and make sure the bottle fell.

we jimuis very nice wan, easy task ma... haha~

challenge #3
a pail full of water and ice with 8 keys drowned at the bottom. the groom is required to bottoms up a bottle of beer, and find the right key to the room. the bride's room. each time he picked the wrong key, he needs to bottoms another bottle and proceed to find the next key.

but... sure cheat la... drank 1 bottle d den took his own sweet time to dig ALL the keys up... =.=

after getting the key and opened the room door, there's another surprise challenge which all of us didnt expected it oso. lol... but i forgotten was is it already. i think required the groom to sing...

the groom manage to get in the room and lift the veil. after snapping some photographs, all of us went over to groom's house in puchong for tea ceremony.

groom's side

the newly weds

after the tea ceremony and some photographing session

the jimuis and the bride

the hengdais and the groom

and... we proceeded back to the bride's side for tea ceremony.

according to adeline's mom, the correct tradition is :-
groom to bride's house to get bride - back to groom's house for tea ceremony - then oni back to bride's house for tea ceremony... @.@

after the tea ceremony, the jimuis changed and proceed to check-in to flamingo hotel and we took our nap.

again, 6 of us cramped into 1 room...

at approx 5pm, we woke up and got ready for the banquet.

some of us at the registration desk...

the newly weds at night

half way through the dinner, the bride was on stage and the groom came to the jimui's table.
the groom need to shout 'i love you' in a different language and make sure the bride is able to hear it. at the beginning, he cannot have the mic. but at the end, when we jimuis decided to help him out, he is then being provided a mic

SARANGHEYYOOOO~~~

look at how happy she was that time... priceless moment.

colleagues and ex-colleagues...

the dinner then ended with not much of alcohol intake. :(
we went back to our room and changed to slippers and went to the nearest mamak to eat and drink and talked a bit...

went back to the room and had a great rest... :)

congrats adeline and ronnie. we will be waiting for a chubby baby, k? *hugs*~
